Ebony North has always liked cars, and no, it’s not because she grew up with four brothers.
“None of them were very interested in vehicles, but I always had a knack for it. I spent all of my teen years in the outdoors around Chilliwack, riding 4x4s and trucks with my friends,” she says.
Now North gets to hang around fun, tough vehicles all day, thanks to her new job at O’Connor Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM.
“I love sales in general, but it’s even better when I’m passionate about the products I’m selling,” says North, who has been working at O’Connor since October 2020. “I knew that newer vehicles were well-equipped, but to actually sit inside them and see these new features —it’s just amazing.”
Right now North is most excited about the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer coming out later this year.
“The technology in this vehicle is next-level. It’s such a gorgeous vehicle, I can’t wait to see it!”
Family atmosphere
North feels totally at home at O’Connor Chrysler, and knows her presence makes customers feel at home too.
“It’s a great work environment. We’re a noncommissioned sales staff, so there’s not that feeling of competition. I have endless support from the other product specialists and sales managers on the team, and we all help each other succeed.”
The diverse team brings a range of knowledge and expertise to the family-owned dealership, and everyone chips in to give customers a great shopping experience. It’s a place where customers can let their guard down, and feel at ease while they browse.
One more reason North feels like O’Connor Chrysler has a ‘homey’ feel? Her dad used to work there — the dealership is a stone’s throw from the family home where her parents have lived for the past 28 years.
“Everyone here has welcomed me in — I’ve learned so much, and I feel like I can go to anyone on the team to work on a deal or ask questions.”
