Choreographer Marie Chouinard presents Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and The Rite of Spring – Feb. 3 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.

Set to Claude Debussy’s dreamy and evocative score, Chouinard’s interpretation of Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun transforms a mythical narrative into a mesmerizing exploration of desire, sensuality and the primal elegance of movement. Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring revolutionized music and dance when it premiered in 1913, and Chouinard’s rendition channels its raw, carnal and untamed energy into a visual and physical spectacle.

Amir Amiri takes the stage at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre for an unforgettable evening of musical artistry on Feb. 6. Whispers of Persia isn’t just a performance – it’s an experience that transcends time and geography, offering a window into the soul of Persian culture through the evocative sounds of traditional instruments.

Joined by Abdul-Wahab Kayyali (oud), Reza Abaee (ghaychak), Omar Abu Afech (viola), and Hamin Honari (percussion), they embark together on a musical adventure that delves into the rich tapestry of Persian traditional, folkloric and dastgahi music of Iran.

Next, get swept away by the fiery rhythms and passionate melodies of Spain as the acclaimed Bergmann Duo takes the Chilliwack Cultural Centre stage Feb. 9 with their dazzling performance, Olé! - Spanish Inspirations.
