Following a commanding 48-28 bounce back victory on the road over the Prince George Kodiaks on Saturday (Aug. 10), the Valley Huskers will look to maintain their strong early season form.
The Huskers currently hold a 2-1 record and sit third in the BCFC standings heading into their Week 5 matchup with the Westshore Rebels.
After a strong 51-7 season-opening win over the Kamloops Broncos on July 27, the Huskers played host to the Okanagan Sun team who shut them out, handing the Huskers a 26-0 loss in their Aug. 10 matchup.
Last week’s contest in Prince George saw a return to form for Huskers quarterback Tyran Duval. After the Okanagan defence held him to just 10 completions on 21 attempts for just 120 yards, he finished last week’s game with a favourable 64% completion with 387 yards and two touchdown passes.
It was also a standout performance from running back Jawad Harb who finished Saturday’s contest with 155 all-purpose yards and three rushing touchdowns.
The Husker now face tough competition as they welcome the Rebels who are just one place behind them in the standings.
"This is another big game for us as Westshore is a talented football team," said Huskers head coach Bob Reist. "We need to execute our assignments and play disciplined, mistake-free football.
"This should be an exciting game with both teams featuring special athletes on both sides of the ball."
The Huskers Week 5 matchup against the Rebels is set for this Saturday (Aug. 17) at Exhibition Stadium at 45500 Spadina Ave. with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
