The Chilliwack Jets regular season gets underway this weekend with a home game.

The Jets will take on the Langley Trappers at 5:30 p.m. at the Sardis Sports Complex. The team just announced another player to the team this week, with Chilliwack-born Logan Martin joining the squad.

In a press release, the Jets noted that Martin had "an impressive" main camp and preseason for the 2024/25 PJHL Junior ‘A’ Hockey Season.

The 5'10", 160 lb. forward is "skilled, gritty and fast," they added. He played for the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U17 prep team last season, scoring nine goals and 16 assists. He also appeared in five playoff games last season scoring once, with two assists.

Martin has also played and has developed under the Yale Hockey Program in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League for the two years prior.

“Logan came to our main camp in August unsigned and because of the way he played through camp and the exhibition schedule, he earned himself a full-time roster spot," said head coach, Chris Price. "He plays with an edge, has good habits away from the puck and has some offensive upside to his game. Logan is another young Chilliwack player that we are excited to add to our group and develop this season. ”

Over the summer, the Jets also announced the signing of Luke Roberts as a goaltender. Roberts comes from St. Albert, Alta. and was traded from the KIJHL in exchange for future considerations.

Roberts is a 2005-born, 6'4", 180 lbs. left-hand-catching goalie. He played his minor hockey at the Okanagan Hockey Academy, in Edmonton and in the St.Albert AAA.  Last season with the Heat, Roberts had seven wins, seven losses and two ties.
