Teenagers interested in rugby have the chance to be part of Chilliwack's community rugby club.

The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls, and it starts on Wednesday, May 21.

It's part of the club's summer rugby development series. The brand-new U18 division is for new and experienced players.

It is open to teens aged 15 to 17 and it runs every Wednesday evening at Sardis Secondary School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on May 21. There is no cost to join.

"We hope to create opportunities for our youth to not only participate in club level rugby, but to also take part in provincial/national tournaments and tours," reads a description on the club's website.

The goal is to have teams in place for the season starting in August.
