Emergency crews were called out to Rosedale after a pickup truck hit a fire hydrant and a utility pole Wednesday morning.

The incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the 51000 block of Yale Road East, east of the train tracks on Oct. 9.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they stated the truck was on top of the hydrant and water was pouring out of it. The City of Chilliwack public works department was called to the scene to shut the water off.

A tow truck was required to remove the truck which was "sandwiched" between a fence and the pole, according to firefighters on scene.
