The sun may be shining, but that hasn’t stopped the winds from rolling through the Fraser Valley with enough force to knock down trees.
Several communities in the Fraser Valley have experienced power outages today due to wind-blown trees falling on powerlines. Hope and Silver Creek both lost power, and the area between Hells Gate and nust north of Keefers is still without power, which affects more than 550 people: this also means people travelling through the Fraser Canyon may experience blackouts in the tunnels.
BC Hydro has crews enroute to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
Heads-up #BCHwy1 travellers in the #FraserCanyon, expect lights to be out in the tunnels due to a power outage in the area. Please turn on your headlights and drive with care. http://t.co/gc7AV00TKU
