Road blocked after truck hits power pole, rolls over in Chilliwack

A truck hit a hydro pole and rolled over on Prairie Central Road in Chilliwack on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Traffic was blocked on a country road in Chilliwack after a truck took out a power pole and rolled over on Tuesday.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on July 30 on Prairie Central Road, east of Gibson Road.

When crews with the Chilliwack Fire Department arrived on scene, they reported that a five-tonne truck with a trailer had hit a hydro pole. The vehicle was on its side, and the driver was out of the vehicle and walking around.

The driver was being cared for by paramedics with BC Ambulance Service. No one else was in the truck.

Power lines were down and BC Hydro arrived on scene shortly after 11 a.m.

The road was blocked in both directions as a result.
