The Prest Road construction detour will remain in place an extra week.
The culvert replacement that's been underway on Prest Road with a partial road closure will see the road fully re-opened by Sept. 20.
City of Chilliwack issued an update on Monday (Sept. 9) to say the road closure on Prest Road between Bailey and McGuire has been extended to Sept. 19:
"We apologize for the inconvenience the extended closure may cause and thank you for your patience."
The culvert construction project extension was due to "environmental compliance regulations and site conditions" causing construction delays, said city officials.
The original work window was Aug. 26 to Sept. 11.
Partial road closure has that section of Prest closed with a detour in place. Only local traffic has access.
"Please follow detour signage and directions from flaggers."
