All parties have confirmed they will be attending the upcoming All Candidates Forum on Oct. 10 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, say organizers.

The event is a chance to hear from MLA candidates in Chilliwack North and Chilliwack-Cultus Lake more than a week ahead of the Oct. 19 election.

"We have Rachel Segal from Beyond a Ballot, with an extensive background in politics to moderate this event," said Leanna Kemp, executive director of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce.

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Association joined forces to present the event in the Cultural Centre HUB Theatre.

"This debate promises insightful exchanges on critical issues," say event organizers in the invitation.

The election forum will be divided into two segments of an hour and a half each, one for each provincial electoral riding.

Chilliwack North Candidates are Dan Coulter, Tim Cooper, Dan Grice, and Heather Maahs, while the Chilliwack-Cultus Lake candidates include Kelli Paddon and A'a;liya Warbus.

The first half will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for Chilliwack-Cultus Lake candidates, and then the second from 7:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for Chilliwack North candidates.

The forum will be live-streamed online on YouTube for anyone who can't attend the event in the Cultural Centre.

The event is free for attendees but registration is required in advance.
