Bricklayer Brewing staff will be pouring their last beer in downtown Chilliwack by the end of January.
"Thank you everyone for all of your support over the past five years," according to the post from Bricklayer officials.
The independent brew pub located in District 1881 near Five Corners that called itself "Chilliwack's friendliest brewery" was known for hosting live music, drag bingo and trivia contests.
In their goodbye post on social media tinged with sadness, they cited the "increased cost of basically everything around us" and a "heavy" decline in industry revenues for having to make the "extremely difficult decision" to close.
"This has not been an easy decision to make, and I am heartbroken to have to shut down a dream.
"But, unfortunately, it has to happen. It has been an amazing treat to meet all the new faces and bring a new venue for such great artists from near and far to this community."
They are staying open until the bitter end when they close down on Jan. 31, with a little time left for "fun, excitement, and beer."
"So I would love to see you all down here to help us empty our taps out and share some laughs."
