The wave pool at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre is closed due to glass that fell into it from above.

"Due to an unexpected incident, glass from an overhead source entered the leisure pool," read a statement on the centre's social media page at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The pool is expected to be closed for several days as crews remove the broken glass.

"As the safety and wellbeing of our users is our top priority, we are temporarily closing our leisure pool to ensure all glass is removed. This will require us to drain, clean and refill the pool."

During the closure, swimming lessons will be paused.

The main pool will remain open.

"We apologize for the inconvenience. We will post on our website and social media when the leisure pool has reopened."
