City of Chilliwack has tree disposal options for residents with real Christmas trees.
"Christmas trees are only collected during the first two weeks of January each year," according to the city notice for their curbside collection customers.
Up to two trees per household can be out to the curb or in the alley on pickup day.
"Place your natural Christmas tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day."
The trees have to be cut down to a maximum of four-foot (1.2m) lengths with all decorations removed.
Flocked trees cannot be accepted curbside and must be disposed of at the Bailey Landfill.
For those not on the curbside collection service there are options for drop-offs.
"Drop off trees for free composting at the Parr Road Green Depot during the the last week of December and first week of January."
Charges will apply at the Parr Green Depot after the third week of January. Charges apply at the Bailey Landfill.
The Parr Road (Yard Waste Disposal Site) green depot is at 45175 Parr Road.
The Bailey Sanitary Landfill is at 5940 Matheson Rd.
