Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl wants employers to apply for funding through the 2024 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program in order to hire young Canadians for the summer.

Applications for the program are now open and available until Jan. 10, 2024. They opened on Nov. 21 .

“I encourage not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses in our community to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” Strahl said in a press release. “Both local employers and local students have benefited from this program in the past and there are more applications to participate in it every year.”

Employers in Chilliwack-Hope — which includes not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and private-sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees — are all being encouraged by Strahl to apply.

Since 2017, the CSJ program has been creating and providing summer job opportunities to Canadian youth, aged 15 to 30. These opportunities provide valuable work experience and skills needed to successfully join the workforce.

To apply: Canada.ca/Canada-summer-jobs. Results will be announced April 2024.
