The Chilliwack Fire Department prevented an attic fire from spreading further into a home Thursday evening.

Crews were called to the blaze in the 46000-block of Silver Avenue in Chilliwack around 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 16.

When firefighters arrived, they found a single-family home with flames and smoke visible on the roof at the rear of the house

“Fire crews secured a water supply and aggressively attacked the fire. As a result of this well-executed attack, crews were able to limit damage to the attic and roof area of the home,” assistant fire chief Chris Wilson stated in a Nov. 17 press release.

Everyone who was inside the house at the time of the fire was able to safely exit.

Approximately 30 firefighters from Halls 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 responded. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.

This fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department officials.
