Chilliwack chamber talks tariffs with local business owners

Panel discussion will cover challenges and opportunities businesses can expect from tariffs

Shelves that had been emptied at the BC Liquor Store at Cottonwood Centre in March, as part of a provincial response to impending tariffs from the United States.

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce is bringing together a panel of local leaders and industry experts to discuss tariffs. 

Let's Talk Tariffs will be held at Cowork Chilliwack on April 15, and the panel will go over what tariffs are, how they'll impact business in Chilliwack, and what can be done locally to navigate them.

The panel includes Jason Lum, a city councillor and business owner, Chris Les, CEO of Delta Water Products, Alan Martens, president of Tycrop Trailers, and Julian Treur, owner of Creekside Cheese and Creamery. 

The chamber's webpage for the event says the panel will unpack what tariffs really mean for local business, the challenges and opportunities they present, how to mitigate impacts and stay informed, and what to watch for in the months ahead. 

The event starts at 10 a.m. runs for two hours, and refreshment will be provided
