3-year strategic plan maps out RCMP priorities for Upper Fraser Valley

'This plan is our roadmap for the future, with team members assigned to provide monthly updates,' says UFVRD

A new three-year strategic plan from RCMP's Upper Fraser Valley regional detachment focuses on enhanced community safety and strong partnerships as key priorities.

"This plan is our roadmap for the future, with team members assigned to provide monthly updates on progress, challenges, and what we have learned along the way," according to RCMP in releasing the strat plan on Dec. 12.

The plan maps out operational priorities for 2024 to 2027 for the regional detachment.

Planning has been underway for more than a year, which included consultation with RCMP members, operational support staff, citizens, and community partners on policing and safety priorities.

"We are committed to keeping the community engaged, ensuring our plan stays relevant and addresses important public safety issues. We will strengthen our connections through meetings with civic leaders, various committee participation, community partners and at informal gatherings."

They plan to "enhance visibility" by increasing "targeted enforcement" patrol, and attending community events, while continuing enforcement based on "analysis of criminal intelligence."

The plan's four strategic priorities are:

    • Enhance community safety
    • Strengthen partnerships
    • Enhance communication
    • Support our people & organizational excellence
