Trio of concerts in Chilliwack feature string quartet surrounded by candles

Musicians will be performing 6 concerts over 3 nights at Chilliwack Cultural Centre

A glowing set of concerts is coming to Chilliwack in the fall.

The Candlelight concerts, featuring a local string quartet illuminated by thousands of candles, are coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre for six performances over three evenings.

On Oct. 27, the quartet will be performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and more. On Nov. 3, it's 'A Tribute to Taylor Swift' and on Dec. 13, people will hear 'A Tribute to Coldplay on Strings.'

There will be two shows each night, one at 6:30 p.m. and the later one at 8:45 p.m. Each show is an hour long.

After huge success in more than 100 cities worldwide and nearly three million spectators since their creation, Chilliwack is the new city in Canada chosen by Fever, a global live-entertainment discovery platform, to host the Candlelight concerts.

For the security of the audience, venue, and musicians, candles are LED, but the visual effect is the same, said Eloisa Marenco Álvarez with Fever.

The names of the local musicians who will make up the string quartet will be announced closer to the shows.

Tickets start at $61 and are available online:

The Candlelight concerts will also be coming to Abbotsford and Maple Ridge (dates and locations to be announced), plus White Rock, Vancouver, Nanaimo and Victoria.
