One of Canada's most heralded and original female artists is making her Chilliwack debut.

Singer-songwriter Jane Siberry will be performing at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Monday, Nov. 18.

She is billed as one of the world’s most unique and gifted musical artists. The genre of her music has been classified as art pop, folk rock, alternative pop and more.

Siberry's work has spanned more than four decades, with the release of 14 studio albums and performances on concert stages around the world.

Her 1985 album The Speckless Sky was a huge critical and commercial success and followup albums The Walking, Bound By Beauty, When I Was A Boy and her signature song Calling All Angels cemented her status as one of the world’s foremost performance artists.

Her recent album Angels Bend Closer was released to rapturous acclaim. She will be performing tracks from this album, alongside her classics, and some new songs as yet unrecorded when she comes to Chilliwack.

A Canadian native, her songs have been covered by numerous artists, with particular success by k.d. lang on her renditions of Love is Everything and the 23rd psalm-inspired The Valley.

She is recognized as a forward-thinking artist, using her creativity both in song and in how she operates in the music business. She was one of the first to setup ‘self-determined transactions’ (otherwise known as ‘pay what you wish’) on her website.

Also joining Siberry that night will be Vancouver-born, Victoria-based artist Kele Fleming. She blends her folk roots with ethereal electronica and recently released her latest single ‘Turing Test.’

Manofest Concerts presents Jane Siberry at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Nov. 18. Tickets are $45 and available at the Chilliwack Arts Centre, by calling 604-391-7469, or online at tickets.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca/TheatreManager/1/online.
