A Vancouver rock band that started up in Russia is coming to Chilliwack to perform.

Autonomous Apes has released its new record 'Blame Me' and to celebrate, they'll be playing at the Chill House on Feb. 15.

This immigrant rock trio, which began in 2020 transitions from melodic verses to explosive choruses, all with the trusty distortion pedal at their side.

Despite a pandemic and a literal move across the globe, frontman Egor Kopshar has kept the music alive and thriving. The band has earned respect in Vancouver’s music scene while growing their fanbase one gig at a time. Now joined by Rishabh Gulati on drums and Noah FP on bass, the band’s sound is rawer, louder, and more in-your-face than ever.

Their new album 'Blame Me' draws inspiration from legends like Refused and Fugazi. The album isn’t tied to a single theme or sound, instead, it’s a collection of everything the band has endured from late 2022 through to 2025.

Band shake ups, friendships falling apart, personal struggles, and the weight of global conflicts have all left their mark on the music. Each song carries a mix of frustration, joy, and the relentless grind of making it in the music industry while navigating life’s chaos.

"If Blame Me had to be summed up in one word, it would be conflict – conflict with family, friends, collaborators, and even within themselves," according to a press release. "It’s a turbulent, intense record, but also one that captures the essence of fighting through the storm."

Autonomous Apes is at the Chill House (45910 Alexander Ave.) on Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. For tickets, go to bandsintown.com.
