A nine-member family band will be in Chilliwack performing a free fundraiser concert this spring.

The Fehr Family Band is at Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church presenting a gospel concert and hymn sing on May 3. The evening of inspirational music and storytelling features James and Heather Fehr and their children.

The concert, presented by Generation Rising, is open to everyone and will raise money for Christian schools in Nicaragua, Honduras and Paraguay.

"With a style that blends family harmonies and acoustic instruments, the Fehr Family Band enjoys playing a variety of genres, from good old-fashioned hymns, to bluegrass, to Southern gospel," reads the event description.

The Fehr family has 11 children, many of whom will be part of the concert.

The Fehr Family Band performs on Saturday, May 3 at Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church (41995 Yarrow Central Rd.) at 7 p.m. The concert is free, with a freewill offering.
