Maybelles trio returns to Chilliwack stage for 'Oh, What a Night'

Female group brings 'fun and playful spirit' to stage while singing hits from '60s and '70s, says member

A trio of groovy women will be singing soulful sounds from the '60s and '70s when they bring their annual fall show to the stage.

'Oh, What a Night' with The Maybelles will be at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 on the main stage.

"This year, we'll be on the bigger stage, which means we can introduce some really cool elements to the show that we've never done before," said member Brittany Sovereign.

She, along with Alexis Beer and Katrina Barson, make up the group.

"While we’re enhancing the experience, we'll maintain the fun and playful spirit that audiences have come to expect from The Maybelles."

As always, they will have a live band backing them up, made up of musicians from Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.

The Maybelles will be paying tribute to legendary acts from the '60s and '70s. Each performance will feature a mix of classic hits and unique arrangements, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

"We hope people feel the joy of those important decades in music, and leave with a new appreciation of their favourite songs."

The Maybelles present their fall concert 'Oh, What a Night' at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults, and $20 for youth under the age of 12. Tickets available at the cultural centre, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca or by calling 604-391-SHOW (7469).
