The Chilliwack Museum and Historical Society is planning its popular Hops and Heritage Fundraiser for June 8.

The event is held on museum grounds, and focuses on the local craft brewing and hops industry in Chilliwack. This is the fifth annual event, and all funds raised will be directed to a project underway to rebrand the Chilliwack Museum and Archives.

The event is a chance to discover Chilliwack’s industrious past as a premier hops producer, and to get acquainted with the local faces and businesses that bring this history to life in this city. The day includes live music and entertainment, a beer garden, raffles, food trucks, a farmers’ market, games and more.

It runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and minors can attend (for free) with a parent or legal guardian. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door, with a $5 discount for Chilliwack Museum and Historical Society members. Admission includes one drink ticket, and more are available for purchase to help support the fundraiser.

Some of the entertainment planned includes Jada Leroux (3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.), Tyla Jones (5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.), and Kyler Pierce (7 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

The farmers’ market from from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be trivia games with James Copeland from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and drag bingo from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Vendors on site include Bricklayer Brewing, Farmhouse Brewing, Field House Brewing, Flashback Brewing, and Lake Bottom Cider. Food trucks include The Crazy Gringo, Frankly Delicious Ice Cream, and Planet of the Crepes.

While there, guests are welcome to take in the featured exhibitions at the museum. In Gallery 1, there is Our Journey for Inclusion: 70 Years of Innovation, and in Gallery 2, there is Woven Together: Chilliwack Spinners & Weavers.

Outside, the museum will have a special exhibition called The Hops Connection: From Industry Gold to Lasting Legacy.
