An annual garlic festival is returning to Chilliwack with a new name.
The Stinking Rose Garlic Festival, formerly called the Chilliwack Garlic and Harvest Festival, is at Fantasy Farms on Sept. 21 and 22. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event.
Organizers are inviting people to have a "stinking good time" at the fundraiser event which includes games, music, activities, and lots food and drinks. There's also a garlic pancake breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 22.
Part proceeds from the festival will go to Chilliwack Community Services.
More than 20 garlic farmers and vendors will be showcasing their harvest, and food vendors will be providing an assortment of garlic-based treats. Old Yale Brewing will be on site serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
The event will also include: the grand opening of Petey’s Pumpkin Patch, train rides, kids' corn maze, bouncy castles, water gun shooting range, goat petting, information sessions, chainsaw carving demonstration, a beer garden and more.
The Stinking Rose Music Festival is on Saturday night. Starting at 6 p.m., the night will include music by: Joe Matheson, The Unbranded, Molten Blues, and The Maybelles.
There are two ticket options: single-day daytime tickets (no concert access) for $12; or a full weekend pass (includes the Stinking Rose Music Festival) for $30. There are also full-weekend family passes for $85. Tickets are available online at eventcreate.com/e/stinkingrose.
The Stinking Rose Garlic Festival – presented by Chillsounds, Timberfield’s Mixed Greens, and Fantasy Farms – is Sept. 21 and 22 at 9423 Gibson Rd. in Chilliwack. Hours are: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.
