A hip-hop artist who grew up in Chilliwack has released a new single and music video.

Boslen, the genre-defying artist known for his innovative approach to music released 'Sunday Shoes' on Oct. 4. This track marks a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his evolution not only as an artist but also as a producer and visual storyteller.

The single is produced by Jared Manierka, widely recognized for his work with Carly Rae Jepsen, and co-produced by Boslen himself – a first in his discography.

"It took me not being able to release music for 11 months to realize how important just working with what you have is," Boslen said. “This is the first time I'm producing, writing, directing, and arranging everything for an experience like this.”

'Sunday Shoes' is a reflection of Boslen's journey towards self-discovery and artistic freedom. His lyrical prowess is on full display, intertwining his signature raw honesty with melodic finesse, inviting listeners into his world of vulnerability and growth. The song goes beyond the boundaries of music, creating a narrative for those who embrace authenticity and are unafraid to lead with truth.

The accompanying music video, co-directed and edited by Boslen and Kai Lewis and co-produced alongside Ronan Bryson and Tatum McLean, is a visual embodiment of the single’s themes – bold, unfiltered, and deeply personal. Drawing inspiration from his own experiences, Boslen captures a sense of urgency to live in the moment, urging fans to become "free thinkers, risk takers, ones who aren't afraid of just putting their phone down and being present."

This release is just "the tip of the iceberg" for what fans can expect from Boslen’s forthcoming album, Pilgrims, slated for release in early 2025, he said.

As he transitions from "a kid trying to influence kids" to an adult influencing the next generation, Boslen is poised to solidify his place as a pioneering force in the music industry.

Building on the success of his previous releases, including 'Santa Muerte' and his JUNO-nominated GONZO project, Boslen continues to push the envelope. His music has always been more than just songs – it's an experience, a journey into a world that balances introspection with the ambition to break new ground.

'Sunday Shoes' is available on all major streaming platforms.
