Chilliwack artists explore nation in show 'Canada, Eh?'

Chilliwack Visual Artists Association exhibition touches on landscapes, insulin, maple syrup and more

Members of the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association are sharing what the nation means to them in a Canada-themed art show.

Group exhibition 'Canada, Eh?' is on display at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from Sept. 18 to Oct. 19.

The artists were asked "What comes to your mind when you think of Canada?" The show touches on everything from sprawling landscapes to wild animals, slavery to insulin, maple syrup to fishing.

"This diverse group of artists, working In many mediums will be presenting an interesting display of paintings, drawings, fabric work, digital art, pottery, photography and printmaking all exploring the meaning of Canada to them," the show description reads.

Canada, Eh? by the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 19 inside the O'Connor Group Art Gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday. Admission is free.
