Chilliwack has had its fair share of lottery success this year with yet another local resident $150,000 richer.
Chilliwack’s Deborah Surette has plans to jet off to Greece thanks to her recent $150,180 slot machine win playing on the BCLC online casino PlayNow.com. She was camping in her fifth-wheel camper on Aug. 9, 2024 when she decided to tap into a quick slot game while at the kitchen table – a decision she’s certainly glad she made.
“It’s the best $30 I’ve ever spent,” she said of her wager amount. “It’s still kind of surreal.
“I have to keep looking at the picture of the win to believe it.”
According to Surette, her husband was in just as much disbelief over the win.
“He had to put his glasses on to see what I was crying about.”
In addition to her getaway to Greece, Surette plans on paying off her mortgage with the prize money.
