Fourteen members of the First Fairfield Cub Scouts, plus some adults, enjoyed a day of snowshoeing at Manning Park on Feb. 2.
The group (kids aged 8-11) was given a $3,100 grant from Chilliwack Foundation which allowed the scouts to purchase 20 pairs of snowshoes from Mt. Waddington's Outdoors. They also purchased some sleeping bags and snow shovels for hiking.
The scouts are paying it forward by offering their fellow scout groups to borrow the new snowshoes for their own outdoor winter activities.
