Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation launches new website

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation has announced the launch of its new website

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation has announced the launch of its new website at  www.FVHCF.org.

“People can visit our new site to find out who we are and what we do,” says executive director, Vicki Raw. “We’ve been around for almost 13 years, and there are still some Chilliwack area residents who don’t realize that we are their hospital foundation and that money raised in their community, stays in their community.

“We’ve been so busy fundraising and running campaigns, we’ve been a little too quiet when it comes to promoting ourselves,” she added.

While users have been able to make on-line donations to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation in the past, the new website clearly lists all of the facilities and programs under the Foundation’s umbrella and simplifies the giving process.

Unlike traditional hospital foundations, which each serve a single acute care facility, the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation raises funds for the hospitals in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Hope and Mission, as well multiple residential care facilities, Christine Morrison Hospice, the Agassiz Community Health Centre and community based health care programs throughout the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District.

The new website will shine a light on third-party fundraisers organized by individuals, businesses and community groups and promote the foundation’s community partners. It also offers detailed information on the types of gifts the foundation can accept, such as in memoriam and estate gifts.

The user-friendly website replaces the foundation’s campaign websites created for “A Campaign for Health Care Excellence” which raised funds for the new emergency department and renovations at Chilliwack General Hospital and for the Abbotsford Regional Hospital which opened in 2008.

The Foundation will soon be launching a campaign for the new 200-bed complex care facility at Mission Memorial Hospital.
