All roads lead downtown

Visitors can always find a bit more in Chilliwack, and even our historic downtown boasts "Five Corners" at its crossroads

Visitors can always find a bit more in Chilliwack. Even our historic downtown boasts "Five Corners" at its crossroads.

Here, at this unique intersection, our landmark clock tower and its surrounding courtyard serve as a focal point for the community. If you wait long enough, sooner or later everyone will pass by.

For several years now, the Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Association has been working in partnership with City Hall to revitalize and restore our core area. The result is an eye-catching blend of the best of yesteryear, and the anticipation of tomorrow.

Proud of their accomplishments, downtown merchants practise personalized service and attention to detail. New and long-established operations range from clothing stores, eateries, medical services and hotels to professional offices, sporting outfitters, antique dealers and hardware franchises.

Far from being all business, downtown Chilliwack is also pleasure. There's the greenery of Salish Park and its large pond, there's the historic Paramount Theatre, the Chilliwack Museum, and our full-service library.

Special events include the Celebrate the Arts Parade in May and the Christmas Parade in December. Often passers-by are treated to live music either at the Clock Tower, or in Salish Park.

With all this to offer, Chilliwack's downtown is always an ideal spot to meet a friend — or make a new one.
