Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) wants to remind their residents that their quarterly utility payment is due before Dec. 31.
"With the Canada Post labour action affecting delivery of mail, any cheque payments and reminder notices for utility billing are not being delivered," FVRD said in a press release. "The mail service interruption does not affect the deadline for utility payments.
"If a utility bill remains unpaid by Dec. 31, the outstanding amount is required to be transferred to your property taxes as per legislation for regional districts."
Residents can make payments by: paying in person at the FVRD office in Chilliwack at 1-45950 Cheam Ave, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.; online at https://myfvrd.ca/TempestApps/LoginManager/ .
Cheques can be dropped off, after hours, by using the mail drop slot at the main entrance doors. For those wishing to pay by Visa or MasterCard, FVRD reminds residents that the limit is $2,000.
The FVRD office will also be closed from Dec. 25 to January 2, 2025. If residents wish to pay in person, it must be done before Dec. 25.
