Watercolours of Chiu at the museum

Artist Raymond Chiu likes to tell moving stories with his watercolours. But ultimately the interpretation of his art is all up the viewer, he says.

Artist Raymond Chiu likes to tell moving stories with his watercolours.

But ultimately the interpretation of his art is all up the viewer, he says.

Chiu’s show My Passion opened on July 23 and runs until Sept 15 at the Chilliwack Museum.

After establishing himself in the competitive world of graphic design in the 80s, with his own studio, Chiu gave it up to pursue his love of painting full-time.

He told The Progress he feels lucky to have been able to draw for a living, but he always dreamed of painting.

Chiu holds artist Robert Bateman in high esteem, and enjoys painting wildlife images, as well as scenes from his life experiences and travels.
