Two free tickets to see Enchanted Island on Jan. 21 were up for grabs for Chilliwack Progress readers who acted quickly to enter the draw. The winner is Gay Henderson, and the tickets are awaiting pick-up at the Progress office.
The opera Enchanted Island, premiered by the Met last month, offers a pastiche of music by a bunch of baroque composers, including Handel and Vivaldi. It was devised and written by Jeremy Sams based on The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.
Operatic selections from the Metropolitan Opera are being projected onto the big screen at Galaxy Cinemas Chilliwack via satellite. The Cineplex chain has been offering The Met: Live in HD live, in high-definition and in surround sound for several seasons now, and Chilliwack came on board last fall.
