The Chilliwack Visual Arts Association presents ART33, a gallery exhibition by students of School District 33.

The art exhibit will be on display at the O'Connor Group Art Gallery (9201 Corbould St) from May 12 to June 4.

ART33 is a showcase of the talent and creativity of students from School District 33. All work has been completed as part of the art programs of Chilliwack Senior, G.W. Graham and Sardis Secondary, and has been curated for the exhibition by their teachers.

Students are encouraged to share their personal taste and experience using a wide variety of techniques, themes and approaches.

This annual exhibition is an opportunity for what is often a first exhibition experience for these young artists. Seeing their work in the professional gallery space, outside of the classroom studio, is an exciting way for students to receive validation for their achievements.

A number of students who take part in ART33 will go on to pursue careers in the arts.

ART33 has always been an opportunity for students, teachers, family and friends to come together to share and enjoy their work and ideas.

Supporting each other and being inspired by what others are doing have always been a primary focus of the show among the students and their peers.

The O'Connor Group Art Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, noon until 5:30 p.m.

The opening reception for the SD33 exhibit is May 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
