Santana returning to Abbotsford in March

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana and his band will be making a stop in Abbotsford in the spring.

The hall of fame talent has announced a stop in the Abbotsford Centre on March 31 as part of his Blessings and Miracles tour.

Other B.C. stops on the tour include Victoria (March 30) and Penticton (April 2).

According to the announcement press release, Santana will perform high-energy, passion-filled songs from their fifty-year career, including fan favorites from Woodstock to Supernatural and beyond. The band (which features Santana’s wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, on drums) will also perform songs from the 2021 Blessings and Miracles release.

The new album features collaborations with artists such as Rob Thomas, Chris Stapleton, G-Eazy, American Authors and Ally Brooke, Chick Corea, Steve Winwood, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Living Colour’s Corey Glover, among others.

The 74-year-old Santana is widely considered as one of the greatest guitarists of all time and has won 10 Grammy awards and three Latin Grammy awards in his career. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Over his career he has released 25 studio albums, seven live albums, 61 singles and 23 compilation albums. He has sold over 100 million records over his 50-plus year career.

Santana last performed in Abbotsford in 2018.

The North American tour begins on March 25 in Kennewick, Wash. and concludes on April 16 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.

Tickets for the Abbotsford show go on sale starting on Friday (Dec. 17) at santana.com.
