With the reopening of indoor dining, at least one Chilliwack restaurant is bringing back live entertainment.
The Bonnie Northgraves Trio will be filling the Bozzini’s Upstairs Lounge with jazz music on June 26.
Northgraves, of Chilliwack, will be celebrating the release of her latest album Welcome to Trashland in her hometown.
The trumpeter and vocalist harkens back to the fertile and festive early days of New Orleans jazz and will be performing classics from the ‘20s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, plus her own originals. Northgraves is known as being a key member in Company B Jazz Band, Jeff Gladstone and the Bad Ideas, T Lizzy, and many others.
She is a performer, recording artist, teacher, and clinician. Northgraves is passionate about music and hopes to spread her love of jazz through performance and education.
The Bonnie Northgraves Trio, featuring Wynston Minckler (bass) and Dean Thiessen (piano), is at Bozzini’s Upstairs Lounge on Saturday, June 26 at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.)
