The Arthouse on Mill presents the next concert in its Harmony series of music and colour on Friday, May 26.

The night features local visual artist Marko Jalava and musical artist Spiderlodge.

Jalava, artist and owner of The Arthouse on Mill, creates thought-provoking artwork using acrylic paint. Each of the evenings featured pieces tells a story of inspiration, relating to experiences that many of us face in our everyday lives. He uses his brush strokes, as a writer uses a pen, to transfer his insightful perspective into pieces of art that move the soul, ask us to stop and ponder the everyday, question our truths, and imagine our possibilities.

Spiderlodge is a Chilliwack-based, acoustic roots rock trio made up of Fraser Valley Music Award winner Rick Genge, vocalist Lori Paul and percussionist Clay Thornton. Multi-instrumentalist Rick Genge has produced seven albums out of the home studio, he shares with wife Lori Paul, wordsmith and lead vocalist for the band. Thornton began his career in rhythm as a tap-dancing toddler at his grandmother’s academy, the Fleita Tutte School of Dance. Thornton and Paul formed their first professional band here in Chilliwack in 1980. Look for the trio’s fourth album in the fall of 2017.

Trevor McDonald will emcee the evening and Vita Bella Bistro will provide a cash bar and light snacks for sale.

The Harmony concert series continues Friday, May 26 at The Arthouse on Mill (2-9360 Mill St.). Doors open at 6:45 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets $22 or two for $40, and can be purchased at The Arthouse or on-line at www.thearthouseonmill.com.
