After three sold-out years, Chilliwack’s Art of Wine Festival is back for its fourth installment, and with more wine and cheer than ever.

The Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society is once again extending an invitation to a night of award-winning wineries paired with delectable appetizers and live entertainment on Saturday, May 13.

Chilliwack’s Art of Wine Festival has become recognized as a true spring highlight by wine lovers, foodies, and anybody else who loves having a great time. With the beautiful setting, awesome live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and award-winning wines from one of the fastest-growing wine regions on the globe, this event has more than subtle notes of glamour, luxury, and excitement.

Patrons will have the opportunity to taste fabulous creations from some of British Columbia’s finest wineries — and with the province’s growing reputation as a must-visit destination for those that know their merlot from their pinot, the selection will be truly world-class.

With 25 wineries represented, everyone will be able to find a new favourite — whether that be local creations from the Fraser Valley’s own Maan Farms Estate Winery or Okanagan Fall’s Blasted Church Vineyards, or international wines from Spain provided by Christopher Stewart Wines & Spirits.

These wineries and many more will come together to offer a variety of vintages sure to please every kind of wine lover — but the excitement doesn’t stop there.

A selection of Chilliwack’s best restaurants and caterers will add even more delectability to this event. Browns Social House, Hofstede’s Country Barn, Roll n’ Coal BBQ Catering, The Lakeside Beach Club, Vita Bella Bistro, and The Clean Plate Catering will further tantalize taste-buds with their delicious wine pairings.

And as patrons sip and savour, the night will work towards a thrilling climax — the Festival Favourite presentation. Each patron will be able to vote on which winery they love the best, with the winery that receives the most votes being recognized on a sensational trophy. This encourages patrons to explore and sample the amazing selection of wineries on offer.

There will also be a choice of entertainment for the wine-lovers to take in with four live performances. Chilliwack musician Trevor McDonald will be taking over the Rotary Hall Studio Theatre with his group Stompin’ Grape while local pianist Wesley Hawkins performs in the O’Connor Art Gallery. The lobby of the Centre will be filled with the beautiful music of Chilliwack singer-songwriter Lakeisha Hewitt, and harpist Glen Cuthbertson.

Right in the middle will be the silent auction — the place to be for those that want to take home any number of fabulous items donated by Chilliwack businesses.

All proceeds from this benefit event will be used to help fund the Chilliwack Cultural Centre’s programming, so attending Chilliwack’s Art of Wine Festival is a good deed as well as an inspirational indulgence.

Every element of this event — the wineries, the entertainment, the appetizers, and the community spirit — all come together to create an evening that perfectly pairs luxury and creativity, and that is the very best way to embrace patio sipping season.

The Art of Wine Festival is May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.

Tickets are $50 and are available from the Centre Box Office, calling 604-391-SHOW(7469), and online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca

This is a 19+ only event.
