The astonishing and irresistible entertainment of live magic returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with Shawn Farquhar’s Cabaret of Wonders XIII, hosted this time by the incredibly hilarious Michael Finney while Shawn finishes up a European tour.

Prepare to be baffled on Feb. 15 when you’re left in awe by the 13th installment of this magic series filling the Rotary Hall Studio Theatre with mystifying illusions and stellar talent.

Featuring not only Finney’s unbelievable skills, the Cabaret of Wonders XIII will also welcome an assortment of talented special guests to share the stage with him. Returning once again for the opening magic show of this season is Alex Zander, while Rod Boss joins them for his first appearance in the series.

Finney, having started his career as a close-up magician and children’s performer at a theme park, decided to concentrate on comedy magic and developed his own style of showmanship. His sincerity and authenticity transform a simple mixture of character, humor, and magic into something that not only entertains but inspires. Currently the president of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, he has also been a finalist on Star Search, was a regular performer on NBC’s World’s Greatest Magicians, and World’s Wildest Magic shows, and has also been nominated for Magician of the Year by Magic Castle.

Alex Zander now stands as the current international vice president for the International Brotherhood of Magicians and is now also the incoming president-elect. He has been awarded the title Stage Magician of the Year by both the Canadian Association of Magicians and the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians for his signature brand of energetic comedy and magical impossibility that promises a one-night-only event to remember.

Rod Boss has thrilled countless audiences throughout Europe, Asia and North America, and is the 2018 Comedy Magician of the Year and the 2017 Close-Up Magician of the Year.

When creating the Cabaret of Wonders series, Shawn Farquhar was inspired by the fact that there was nothing like it when he was growing up. There wasn’t a place where practiced, or up-and-coming magicians could perform in front of an audience as they experiment with new tricks.

“This is the perfect venue to experience magic for your first time. You can participate as much or as little as you want to. You can sit in the back in the dark to watch the show, or you can sit at the front and hope to get picked. The magic you’ll experience you will know is real because there are no camera tricks and it all happens in front of you,” says Farquhar about the cabaret-style setting.

The intimate cabaret setting gives you a unique opportunity to see these talented magicians work up close. Whether you’re looking for a fun evening out, or want to discover the thrills of live magic, Shawn Farquhar’s Cabaret of Wonders is the place to be.

Shawn Farquhar’s Cabaret of Wonders XIII is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
