A captivating Dutch musical duo will be gracing the stages of two Chilliwack churches over the next week.

Panflutist Liselotte Roktya joins organist André Knevel to present delightful music.

Rokyta studied to play the pan flute at the Academy of Music in Hilversum, Netherlands and the Academy of Arts in Amsterdam with the internationally renowned Romanian panflute player Nicolae Pîrvu.

She regularly travelled to Romania where she studied and mastered the Romanian style of playing.

Knevel, from Bossum, Netherlands, began taking formal piano and organ lessons by age eight. After his first official organ performance at age 19, he was appointed organist in Hilversum.

Upon immigrating to St. Catharines, Ontario in 1975, Knevel completed his studies at the University of Toronto.

Roktya and Knevel have worked closely for many years, performing more than 50 concerts per year together in Europe, Canada and the United States.

These two seasoned performers will play a concert on Thursday, April 14 at Chilliwack Canadian Reformed Church (49379 Chilliwack Central Road), accompanied by Chilliwack CanRC Choir and the men's double quartet choir.

They will perform again in Chilliwack on Tuesday, April 19 at Cooke's Presbyterian Church (458 Wellington Ave), alongside the Bethel NRC Choir.

Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Suggested admission donations are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, or $25 for families.
