Colourful designs in fashion show

Chilliwack designer and self-taught artist, Anelia Basson, is having a fashion show featuring her own work at the end of the month

Chilliwack designer and self-taught artist, Anelia Basson, is having a fashion show featuring her own work at the end of the month.

Basson, who was born and grew up in South Africa, uses bright, vibrant colours in her clothing designs.

"My clothing is designed for comfort and style, with vibrant colours to catch the eye. Each garment is unique in its own way. Many of my designs are a compilation of colourful scenes from nature, and many are inspired by the beautiful flowers, animals and natural beauty of Hornby Island," she writes.

Her fashion show is a free event and is set for Wednesday, Sept. 28 at The Arthouse on Mill (2-9360 Mill St.) at 7 p.m.

There will also be a beer tasting at Chaos and Solace, located right next door, at 6 p.m. Cost is $6 for four one-ounce sized tasting glasses.
