Three resident arts companies will be performing at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre in November and December as part of a special series.
The Chilliwack Players Guild, Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra, and Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra are all set to take the stage in the centre’s Visions Series.
The Visions Series is a curated lineup of shows by resident companies: the Chilliwack Academy of Music, the Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra, the Chilliwack Player’s Guild, the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts, the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra, the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association, and Secondary Characters.
“It’s celebrating the amazing talent that we have here,” executive director Jean-Louis Bleau said back in August when they announced the 2023/2024 season.

First up, the Chilliwack Players Guild present comedy The Glitter Girls. Revolving around an ad hoc meeting of a women’s social club called The Glitter Girls, members of the group are tasked with figuring out whom from their sisterhood will inherit millions, with the hopes that the Glitter Girls selected will share the money with the rest of her sisters. The play is filled with humour and heartwarming moments. It runs from Nov. 23 to Dec. 3.
The Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra will celebrate the holiday season with A Traditional Christmas on Dec. 10. With a festive selection of Christmas and season music, this program is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. Paired with a silent auction, A Traditional Christmas is not only a musical feast for the ears, but it will also be the perfect place to shop for gifts.
Wrapping up the series for the year will be the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Handel’s Messiah on Dec. 15. Year after year, the CSO continues to breathe new life into this well-loved holiday tradition. This year, audiences can expect to hear a more detailed, articulate style and quicker tempos based on Baroque dance rhythms and speech patterns. This beloved oratorio includes Hallelujah and The Trumpet Shall Sound, as well as other familiar pieces.
