A new retail store where Chilliwack artists and artisans are selling their products will be hosting a meet-and-greet event today.

Dragonfly Arts and Crafts, a store in Cottonwood Centre opened by the Ch’illiwack Community Arts Council, is welcoming folks to meet some of the artists who make the items for sale in the store on Saturday, March 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The store opened just before Christmas with nine local artist and artisans. They are now at 30 with a dozen more joining next week, said Siobhan D’Souza with the Ch’illiwack Community Arts Council.

“This is the artist’s dream,” Chilliwack artist Lucas Simpson said when the store first opened in December 2021. “You’re right in front of the people, it’s incredibly accessible to the artist and it’s a retail space.”

Dragonfly Arts and Crafts is located at the northwest end of Cottonwood Centre next door to where the former Sears store was. The name ‘dragonfly’ comes from CCAC’s new branding and logo.

Artists and artisans who want to sell their items at the store can contact Wilford at rwilford@chilliwackartscouncil.com, or by phone at 360-366-6444 (cell) or 604-769-ARTS (office).
