Telling the story of the unassuming Mr. Hatch, who leads a predictable and ordered life until an unexpected surprise turns his point of view upside down, Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch will put a smile on everybody’s face.
On Valentine’s Day, Mr. Hatch receives a candy-filled heart along with a note saying, “Somebody loves you.” This small gesture symbolizes a complete upheaval for the quiet Mr. Hatch, who finds himself beginning to enjoy all the pleasant parts of life he previously ignored: making friends, eating new and delicious food, and beginning the search for his secret admirer.
A fun and tender play with an important message, Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch is a heartwarming exploration of the huge impact a small dose of kindness can have for anybody, turning strangers into friends, adding colour to a bland outlook, and even completely transforming a life.
Axis Theatre brings an irresistible charm to each of their productions, and with Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch, their knack for delivering unique theatrical experiences is front and centre, pulling you into a laugh-filled journey of one puppet’s transformation from wooden-heartedness into lively, life-affirming cheer.
