Nov. 8, 2024 • Kids can head to the Chilliwack Library for Build It: Special Pro-D Day Edition with Makedo on Friday, Nov. 8 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to LEGO, kids will be building with new Makedo sets which features cardboard-building creations and tools. Makedo fosters imaginative play, all through STEAM learning. This is geared towards ages 5 and up, younger children welcome with an adult helper. Drop-in.

Nov. 9, 2024 • The Comedy Department presents 'Middle Aged Boy Band: The Comeback You Didn’t Know You Needed' at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $44 (early bird $39) and available at the cultural centre, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca or by calling 604-391-SHOW (7469).
Nov. 9 and 10, 2024 • NWO Roller Derby presents its annual Daze of Derby fundraiser tournament on Nov. 9 and 10 at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). This is a full weekend of fast-paced, hard-hitting roller derby action where there will be 12 teams from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Washington State participating. There will also be raffles, 50/50 draws, vendors, and food trucks. The first whistle is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Nov. 9, 2024 • Creators Coven presents Creators CreepMas on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Evergreen Hall in Chilliwack. This is a curated art market of more than 60 alternative vendors, live DJ sets by No Name No Slogan, and live performances by Cirque Des Morts, Jessica Roh and Jacqueline Tyracek. There will be a coffee shop, booze bar, food truck and raffle for charity. The art market runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the art market with live performances runs 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Market only is $5 (no in-and-out privileges) up til 6 p.m. An all-day pass is $10 which includes the live performances and in-and-out privileges for the day. The giant raffle draw includes of a donation from all 60 artists and vendors. The raffle draw is at 8 p.m., and the prize must be picked up by 9:30 p.m. There will also be two $50 "coven buck" giveaways throughout the evening market for the all-day pass holders.
Nov. 9 and 16, 2024 • The Chilliwack Lawn Bowling Club is hosting its Fall Garage and Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 9350 Edward St. Proceeds will go towards purchasing club bowls. Hotdogs and drinks will also be for sale on both days.
Nov. 9, 2024 • Jeff Laschuk and Frank Talaber will be doing a joint book-signing event at Dickens Sweets and Vintage Market (45645 Alexander Ave.) on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nov. 10, 2024 • The second annual Fraser Valley Record Fair is Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Princess Armouries. This is the Fraser Valley's largest vinyl record, CD and music memorabilia fair. Browse more than 50 tables of music and music-related items curated by collectors from across B.C. Those who would like to be a vendor can email fraservalleyrecordfair@gmail.com. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 45707 Princess Ave. There will be a food truck on site. Admission is $2 at the door.
Nov. 12, 2024 • Laughter is the Best Medicine, a comedy show to help tackle PTSD and mental health, is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. to allow time to check out a growing silent auction. Nov. 12-19, 2024 • The Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board is hosting its annual Realtors Care Blanket Drive from Nov. 12 to 19 where they will be collecting winter clothing, blankets, and non-perishable food. Nov. 13, 2024 • The first Chilliwack City Prayer Breakfast is Nov. 13 at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.) from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. This event will provide an opportunity to meet local leaders, share a good breakfast, and unite with Christians in prayer. Keynote speaker is John Les, former mayor and MLA. This event is hosted by ARPA Chilliwack (Association for Reformed Political Action). Tickets are $30 and available on eventbrite.ca.
Nov. 15-17, 2024 • The Chilliwack Christmas Craft Market returns to Chilliwack Heritage Park from Friday, Nov. 15 to Sunday, Nov. 17. It will feature a wide range of artisan products, including locally designed clothing, homemade gourmet treats, handcrafted art, and artisanal spirits. Hours: Nov. 15 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission: $7 for adults, and free for children under 12. Parking is by donation.
Nov. 15, 2024 • Corporeal Imago presents Throe, a show of aerial acrobatics, contemporary dance and visual theatre at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Before the show, people are invited to a Steampunk Soirée at 6:30 p.m., where they can dress in their best steampunk outfits and celebrate the evening with a night of art, culture and adventure. Nov. 15, 2024 • There will be a radon program at the Chilliwack Library on Nov. 15 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. This presentation by Fraser Health provides information on the health impacts of radon, how to test and how to mitigate the effects. Drop-in.
Nov. 16, 2024 • Head to the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve for its Fall Salmon Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly event will celebrate the cultural and ecological significance of Pacific salmon. There will be a drumming and opening talk with Stó:lō elder Eddie Gardner, a salmon life cycle/history and a habitat restoration talk-and-walk with salmon biologist Matt Foy, and an all-ages art class with John Leflock at 12:30 p.m. Note: the art class costs $30 (includes all materials) and registration is required by buying tickets online. Nov. 16, 2024 • Time to brave the dungeons and slay the dragons with 'Dungeons & Dragons for Teens' at the Chilliwack Library. Nov. 18, 2024 • The Chilliwack Hospice Society's Memorial Celebration is Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Vineyard Community Centre (45892 Wellington Ave.). This free event is for everyone who is grieving – whether the death occurred recently or several years ago. It will be a time of reflection and support where people will be surrounded by others whose loved one has died.

Nov. 21, 2024 • Preschool-aged families are invited to the Sardis Library for a free make-and-take activity 'The Shape Monster' on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a fun interactive game created together that kids can bring home. Children learn best through play and interactions so this fun make and take will focus on fun and learning all at once. Nov. 22, 2024 • The Chillies Awards, an inaugural awards show highlighting the arts in Chilliwack, is on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. There are 11 different categories that night. The host is comedian Cliff Prang and there will be performances by The Maybelles, Mauvey, Omniesia, the Lounge Hounds, Chilliwack Improv and more. Nov. 22 to 24, 2024 • The eighth annual Chilliwack Independent Film Festival returns Nov. 22 to 24 at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas and other venues around Chilliwack. Nov. 23, 2024 • Members of 6th Chilliwack Scouts is having a 19+ pub night fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 23. Tickets are $15 and include a burger and fries (veggie burger is an option). Nov. 23, 2024 • Rally in the Chilliwack River Valley is a fundraiser event to raise money for Chilliwack River Valley residents who were affected by the 2021 floods. The event will include music by Jeff Bonner of Tractorgrease, CR Avery, and Headlong Hearts. There will also be a wine wall, a silent auction and a 50/50 draw. Nov. 23, 2024 • Cultus Lake Christmas is Saturday, Nov. 23 at Main Beach. This free, family-friendly event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Christmas lights display will turn Cultus Lake Park into a winter wonderland, and the night will feature a fireworks display off the Main Beach docks. Folks can also take a photo with Santa Claus, shop the local artisan vendors, and sip hot cocoa. The Cultus Lake Fire Department will be roasting marshmallows for guests while Christmas tunes will be playing. Kids can enter a colouring contest (print off colour sheets at cultuslake.bc.ca/events/cultus-lake-christmas-4) by dropping off their entry at Santa’s tent where they will be entered in to win a prize. Nov. 30, 2024 • The annual Tea and Bake Sale, hosted by the Camp River Ladies Circle, is Saturday, Nov. 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Camp River Hall (50246 Camp River Rd.). Admission is a minimum donation of $5 at the door, and that includes refreshments and baked goods at the tables. Dec. 5, 2024 • The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation hosts 'It's a Wonderful Breakfast' on Dec. 5 at Chartwell Lynnwood Retirement Residences (9168 Corbould St.) from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. This sit-down buffet breakfast will raise money to help buy equipment, pay for programming and more at Chilliwack General Hospital and other hospitals in the Fraser Valley. Child-certified therapy dogs from St. John Ambulance are the perfect fit for those needing a friend to read to. NOW to Dec. 18, 2024 • At 'Conversation Circles' people can improve their English through speaking and listening about different topics each week in a safe and friendly space. This program is at the Sardis Library on Wednesdays (Sept. 4 to Dec. 18) from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. This drop-in program is suitable for all age groups. It is in partnership with the Chilliwack Learning Society.
NOW to January 2025 • Stó:lō Salish weaving exhibit 'Salish Story Weavings of S'olh Temexw' is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre until January. The exhibit is curated by Joy Hall. The display features intricate designs and profound narratives woven into each piece made by the following Sto:lo Salish weavers: Teqwotenot, Frieda George (master weaver); Poleqtanot, Saylesh Wesley; Teqwotenot, Roxanne Dool; and Gwasgwasinek, Natalie Jimmie. The exhibit celebrates the rich cultural heritage, oral histories, and transformation stories of Sólh Téméxw (Our Land) and the Stó:lō people.
NOW to Jan. 18, 2025 • The fifth annual Community Art Show is on display at the Chilliwack Museum from Oct. 17 to Jan. 18, 2025. This show is a yearly initiative produced in support of Culture Days, and includes submissions from Chilliwack artists in a wide range of mediums including painting, drawing, photography, textiles, and ceramics.
NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
ONGOING EVENTS:
The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.
First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Last Friday of every month • The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
