May 21 to 24, 2025 • Ignite Theatre presents Newsies: The Broadway Musical at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from May 21 to 24. Show times: May 21, 22, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m., and May 24 at 1 p.m. Tickets $18-$27 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

May 21 to June 21, 2025 • The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents exhibition Modern Mythology, a solo show by Kayla Neufeld Gowans of Agassiz, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from May 21 to June 21. Opening reception is set for Saturday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

May 21 to August, 2025 • The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls. It is open to teens aged 15 to 17 and it runs every Wednesday evening at Sardis Secondary School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on May 21 and throughout the summer. There is no cost to join. May 22 to 25, 2025 • The Auld Lang Syne Dog Association championship dog show is May 22 to 25 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This is a free event and open to everyone. It includes various vendors, and a silent auction with proceeds going to the 'Wounded Warriors' to help pay for a therapy dog. Organizers of the dog show are asking people to bring donations of non-perishable items for the local food bank.

May 23 and 24, 2025 • The Floral Artists of the Fraser Valley invites the public to visit their spring show 'Spring Celebration' at Cottonwood Centre on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. This will be a judged event showcasing the talents of the members of the club as they create and display exhibits using only fresh floral material.

May 24, 2025 • Boris Konovalov is having a classical piano recital on Saturday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church (46420 Brooks Ave.). He will be performing Mozart's Sonata in A major (Alla Turca), Beethoven's Sonata No. 23 in F minor (Appassionata), Chopin's six Études Opus 25, and Liszt's Liebestraum (O, Love) and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for students. Tickets are available at the door (cash only).

May 24, 2025 • Angel Forrest, with special guest Duane Watson, performs at Bozzini's on May 24 for two shows: early show at 5:15 p.m. (doors at 4 p.m.), late show at 9 p.m. (doors at 6 p.m.). Tickets are $35.75 and available at Bozzini's, or by calling 604-792-0744.

May 24, 2025 • The Atchelitz Threshermen's Association has its first garage sale of the year on Saturday, May 24. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 44146 Luckakuck Way (beside Heritage Park).

May 24 to October, 2025 • The Downtown Chilliwack Community Market returns to Chilliwack on Saturday, May 24. This year the market will be at a new location – Central Community Park – and will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until October.

May 24, 2025 • Meet the creators of the brand new graphic novel series ‘Greta Whiteshark’ as they introduce their vibrant new book for the first time in public. The book release party for ‘Greta Whiteshark Meets the Mermaids’ is happening at the Sardis Library on May 24 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Enjoy story time shared from a giant sized version of the book, learn to draw the characters, and collect some fun mermaid swag. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. This is a drop-in event.

May 25, 2025 • The annual Walk for Alzheimer's returns to Chilliwack on Sunday, May 25 at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is the largest fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with the walk time scheduled for 2 p.m. For more information, go to support.alzheimer.ca/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=5162.

May 27, 2025 • Sound the Alarm presents 'A Whole New World: A Concert of Movie Musicals' Greatest Songs' on May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, featuring popular songs from Disney and Hollywood movies. Ticket prices range from $63 to $72.45 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

May 27, 2025 • Enjoy an evening of live music with the Chilliwack Community Band as they present Dance Into Spring with special guests from Creative Outlet Dance Studio. The event is May 27 at 7 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. This is a by-donation concert. For more info, go to chilliwackcommunityband.ca.

May 29 to June 1, 2025 • G.W. Graham Secondary presents Shrek The Musical Jr. from May 29 to June 1. Show times: May 29 to 31 at 7 p.m., and June 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets $15 and available at the school office or online at gwgss.sd33.bc.ca/home.

May 29, 2025 • A Rush tribute act will be performing for the first time in Chilliwack. New World Men: The Sound of Rush is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on May 29 at 7:30 p.m. The band features Matt Grou (drums and vocals), Marc Girard (bass and keyboards), and Frank Larouche (guitar). Tickets $60 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

May 30, 2025 • The Valley Symphony presents Rising Piano Stars on Friday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The night features the vibrant talent of young, gifted pianists from Chilliwack and beyond, plus a performance from special guest, Ukrainian pianist Oleksandr Luchkov, and vocal ensemble Pacific Voices. Tickets $40 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

May 30, 2025 • The Sardis Library presents 'Family Puzzle Contest' on Friday, May 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Get a group of four together to compete in the competition. Each team gets a 500-piece puzzle and has two hours to complete it. First to finish wins bragging rights and a small prize. Register your group of four people to compete against other groups. Groups can be comprised of kids aged eight and older, teens and adults. Children under 13 must be in same group as caregiver. Online registration is required. Please have one person sign up for the team of four.

May 30, 2025 • Chillith Fair returns for an evening of all-female performances at the Vineyard Centre on May 30 at 7 p.m. This year's lineup includes Lori Paul, The Valley Babes, Pretty Good Together, and The Piper Twins. Tickets are $20 for seniors and youth, $25 for adults, available at: https://tinyurl.com/mra3pzs9.

May 31 to June 6, 2025 • GoByBike Week, organized by Cycle Chilliwack, runs Saturday, May 31 to Friday, June 6 with numerous free, pedal-powered activities happening throughout the week. The event showcases new and improved designated bike routes in Chilliwack. It's free to register and participants have a chance to win prizes. May 31, 2025 • The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 295 Chilliwack-Vedder is having an all-ages fundraising event on Saturday, May 31. The event, Western Party Country Night, includes live music by the Claim Jumpers, burgers and hot dogs, a chili cook-off, a beer garden, prizes, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and a bean bag toss. People are asked to bring their own lawn chair. Admission is $10, and chili-taster tickets are $2. It runs from noon to 6 p.m. behind the legion at 5661 Vedder Rd.

May 31, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library presents 'A Paranormal Investigation' on Saturday, May 31 from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Join Cornerstone Supernatural for an evening delving into the world of the paranormal. Discover the fascinating results of their investigations at the Chilliwack Museum as they reveal their findings, explain their methods and equipment, and showcase clips from past investigations. The Chilliwack Museum staff will also share their role in the investigation and highlight the museum’s community offerings. No registration required. Open to ages 16 and older.

May 31, 2025 • It's 'Family Coding Fun' at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, May 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Join others for a hands-on tech adventure for the whole family. Explore the world of coding through play with Cubetto, Code & Go Robot Mouse, and Ozobots. No experience needed – just curiosity and creativity. Perfect for kids and grown-ups to learn and play together. Drop in.

June 3 to Oct. 7, 2025 • Ready to shop local? Market at the Coliseum starts up again on Tuesday, June 3 and runs every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 7. The market features local growers, artisans, food and music, and is located at the corner of Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road (in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum). Vendors can apply by emailing coastvalleymarkets@gmail.com for information.

June 4, 2025 • The Chilliwack Early Years Fair is Wednesday, June 4 at the Sardis Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is geared towards kids aged five and younger and includes family picnic food boxes, games, activities, face painting, live music, and early-years information booths. June 6 to 8, 2025 • The theme for the 53rd annual Yarrow Days is 'The Good Old Days' and it returns Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8. This year's event includes a farmers' market, pancake breakfast, live entertainment, classic car show, and the ever-popular parade. For more on Yarrow Days, go to yarrowcommunity.com/yarrow-days-2.

June 6, 2025 • Sean McCann, a founder of the iconic Canadian band Great Big Sea, will perform at the Ryder Lake Hall at 49265 Elkview Rd. on Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m. as part of his 'Great Big Canadian Road Trip' tour. June 6, 2025 • The Anonymous Art Show returns to Chilliwack on June 6 at Cornerstone Custom Picture Framing and Gallery (9369 Mill St.) and other locations. Hosted by the Chilliwack Community Arts Council, it will showcase a collection of 150-plus pieces of artwork, each created by artists who remain anonymous until their piece is sold. The work will be on display from June 6 to June 15 with the "buying night" fundraiser event taking place from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at Cornerstone. Tickets to the fundraiser are $20. June 7, 2025 • The 27th annual Gwynne Vaughan Park Plant Sale is Saturday, June 7 at the park on Hope River Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be more than 30 vendors selling plants and other items, plus there will be artisan booths, food, a silent auction, and live music. Bring your own bags, boxes and buggies. Parking is free, with overflow parking at Strathcona Elementary (free shuttle service). For more, go to gwynnevaughanpark.ca.

June 7, 2025 • The City of Chilliwack's spring Shred-A-Thon and Food Drive is Saturday, June 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum. Residents can bring materials to be shredded by donating either cash or non-perishable food items for the food bank. For more info, go to chilliwack.com/main/page.cfm?id=2470.

June 8, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Classic Car Show is Sunday, June 8 at the UFV Chilliwack campus (corner of Caen Avenue and Dieppe Street). This fundraiser event will support the Chilliwack General Hospital via the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. Those wanting to register their vehicle for the show, or for more information, can go to fvccs.ca. The show opens to the public at 10 a.m.

June 14, 2025 • The 24th annual Ryder Lake Ramble is back on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This self-guided tour features an eclectic mix of 13 private properties that will be open to the public. Head to the hall at 49265 Elk View Rd. to purchase a wristband - admission is by donation with a suggested $10 minimum per person or $20 per family. For more, go to ryderlakeramble.ca.

June 14, 2025 • The Chilliwack Academy of Music presents benefit concert 'L’Amour de la Musique for the love of music' on Saturday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The show will highlight the musical achievements of the academy, and will include a selection of French-inspired hors d’oeuvres by chef Elizabeth Grimaldi. June 20, 2025 • Ukrainian documentary 'Life to the Limit' will be screened at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Friday, June 20. There will also be a Ukrainian art exhibition on display that night. The film is about the lives of two Kyiv filmmakers who left their Oscar-nominated film to volunteer on Ukraine’s eastern front. Using their own footage and stories, the film shows the human cost of war and the strength that rises from tragedy. Tickets are $26.25 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

June 21, 2025 • Chillcouture: Shxwthíyt’awkw’ 2025, an Indigenous fashion design, arts and music gala will return to the Shxwhá:y Cultural Centre (9651 Skway Rd.) on Saturday, June 21. For more info, go to facebook.com/chillsoundsevents.

July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. July 7 to Aug. 22, 2025 • Learn to Sail on Cultus Lake this summer with the Cultus Lake Sailing Club. Children, youth and adult programs available from July 7 to Aug. 22. The courses are a combination of dry land instruction and water-based training and cover the principles of sailing as well as basic water safety and righting of capsized boats. July 27, 2025 • The 6th annual Bannister Chrysler Car Show is Sunday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 45730 Hocking Ave. The day will be packed with vintage and classic cars, live entertainment, food trucks, family fun and more. People can register their vehicle (all makes and models are welcome) for a $25 donation, and all proceeds go to Little Heroes Hockey Academy. Aug. 8 to 10, 2025 • The 153rd annual Chilliwack Fair returns to Chilliwack Heritage Park from Friday, Aug. 8 to Sunday, Aug. 10. Canadian-American country singer-songwriter Aaron Goodvin performs on Aug. 8 around 9 p.m. For more, go to chilliwackfair.com.

Aug. 15 and 16, 2025 • Downtown Chilliwack will turn into a street party when the annual Chilliwack Mural Festival returns to Mill Street and District 1881 on Aug. 15 and 16. The public art event will see new work by 10 muralists this year in these areas, plus in Sardis. The festival includes live music, performances, art, food and more. NOW to May 29, 2025 • Wiggle Time is at the Sardis Library on Thursdays until May 29, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join others for games, crafts, songs and stories. By combining energy and fun with bounces, rhymes and songs, they practice co-ordination and social skills while building literacy and learning through play. This is a drop-in event.

NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

NOW to November 2025 • The Atchelitz Thresherman's Association Pioneer Village and Farm Museum (44146 Luckakuck Way) is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. most Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays until November. For more, go to atchelitz.ca/home. Entrance is by donation.

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is led by 2008 Olympic Coach Americo Pena. No previous experience required. For ages 9 to 17. It includes games, snacks and wrestling. For more: infocgwa@gmail.com, or 604-997-5758.

The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.

First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. The shows happen on the first Saturday of every month at CoWork Chilliwack. Tickets for all performances are available at veryveryimprov.ca/tickets.

Every Tuesday night • Corky’s Irish Pub wants you to come be a rock star as they host karaoke every Tuesday night.

Every Wednesday morning • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1303 Chilliwack meets Wednesday mornings at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence at 9168 Corbould St. Weigh-in is at 8:15 a.m. followed by a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For information call 604-316-5202 or e-mail alees45@hotmail.com.

Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Last Friday of every month • NOTE: There will be no spaghetti dinner for the months of May to August, 2025; this event will resume in September. The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
