March 20 and 21, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting its 'Virtual Reality Program.' Wearing the HTC VIVE equipment, participants will be able to try out a mix of computer-generated, three dimensional interactive games and educational experiences. Each play experience will be around 15 minutes long; this is intended for those ages 10 and older; parents/guardians must sign a waiver; participants play at their own risk. Registration required; call or drop by the library to sign up. It's happening on Thursday, March 20 (10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.), and on Friday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

March 21, 2025 • The Multicultural Banquet Without Borders fundraiser by Love Without Borders is Friday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. It will be an evening of multicultural food and entertainment to celebrate Nowruz, and raise money for the Building Bridges Initiative to build off-the-ground tiny homes for people in need. Tickets are $55 and include dinner and nonalcoholic beverages. Includes silent auction and more. Doors opens at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m.

March 21, 2025 • Unveiled: A Musical Tapestry of Women’s Strength, featuring The Valley Babes from Chilliwack and aerialists from NZR Productions, is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on March 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $32, with Patron Program discounts available, and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

March 21 to 23, 2025 • A trade show all about hunting, fishing and other outdoor adventures is at Chilliwack Heritage Park March 21 to 23. The BC Outdoors Show will feature industry experts, TV personalities, speakers, interactive events, boats, all-terrain vehicles, RVs, and retailers from across Western Canada. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more, and to buy tickets, go to bcoutdoorsshow.com.

March 22, 2025 • La Vie en Rose, an afternoon of music with pianists The Bergmann Duo and harpist Joy Yeh, is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on March 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $32, with Patron Program discounts available, and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

March 22, 2025 • The 'Teen Super Smash Bros Tournament' is at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, March 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Test skills, challenge friends, and compete for awesome prizes. Bring your own controller or use one of the library's. Snacks will be provided. For ages 13 to 18. Online registration required at fvrl.bc.ca.

March 22, 2025 • NWO Roller Derby goes head-to-head with the Rose City Wreckers of Portland, Oregon on Saturday, March 22 at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first whistle is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are by donation and can be purchased at the door. This is an all-ages event.

March 22, 2025 • Artists Coming Together (ACT) is having a fundraiser to support Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven on March 22 at Corky's Irish Pub from 7:30 p.m. until midnight. The event features performances by Kiki Draven, The NiteHawks, KickNrox, and Sanctuary. There will be a 50/50 draw, toonie toss, and more. Cover charge is $10 at the door.

March 24, 2025 • Making her return to Bozzini's after two sold-out shows last year is Miss Emily on March 24, playing original soul, blues and Americana music. The show is at 8 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available at Bozzini’s or call 604-792-0744 to reserve by phone. For more, go to bozzinisrestaurant.ca.

March 24, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting interactive music program 'Drumming with Rhonda Bruce' on Monday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. African, Cuban and frame drums will be provided, and this class is suitable for all abilities. For ages six and older. Registration is required; call or drop by the library to sign up.

March 25, 2025 • The University of the Fraser Valley has its 4th annual March for Sustainability throughout the month of March with events happening at the Chilliwack campus. On March 25, it's Agroecology Share Fair from 1:30 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. See demonstrations and presentations from agroecology students in this hands-on workshop, complete with samples or take-home goodies. March 25, 2025 • Baby Play Date is at the Chilliwack Library on Tuesday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It'll be a fun-filled session with the parachute, ball pit, musical instruments, foam climbing fun, and more. For babies zero to 24 months. This is a drop-in event.
 
March 25, 2025 • The 'Parent-Child Sewing Class' is at the Sardis Library on Tuesday, March 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a beginner sewing session for parents and children. Participants will be making pencil cases, and all supplies will be provided. No experience required. Bring your own sewing machine if you have one. Registration required; call or drop by the library to sign up. For parents and children ages nine to 14.

March 25 and 26, 2025 • The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre Show will be coming to all three libraries in Chilliwack during spring break. Discover how to use a telescope to explore the night sky as space science educators show people how to navigate the stars. They will also demonstrate what exciting discoveries are being made with telescopes both around the world and in space. This workshop is for all ages. Chilliwack Library: Tuesday, March 25, from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sardis Library: Wednesday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (note: the Sardis event is a ticketed event – tickets are free and can be picked up at the library). Yarrow Library: Wednesday, March 26 from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

March 27, 2025 • Trying to get around Chilliwack without a car? New group 'Car-Free Chilliwack' is starting up and they are having an info session at the Chilliwack Library on March 27 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more, email carfreechilliwack@gmail.com.

March 28, 2025 • On March 28, 11-piece band Steelin’ In The Years will be in Chilliwack to pay tribute to Steely Dan. March 28, 2025 • The Mount Cheam Lions has its monthly spaghetti dinner on Friday, March 28 at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

March 29, 2025 • The Legacy of Lightfoot brings the timeless music of Gordon Lightfoot to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $50 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

March 29, 2025 • The Atchelitz Threshermen's Association is having an open house on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. People can tour the pioneer village and farm museum at 44146 Luckakuck Way (beside Chilliwack Heritage Park). Goodies will be provided. The association is looking for more volunteers, members and visitors.

March 29, 2025 • The Chilliwack Lawn Bowling Club is having two spring fundraisers, one on March 29 and the other on April 5. Each day there will be a garage sale and bake sale and they run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clubhouse is located at 9350 Edward St.

April 3, 2025 • Juno Award-winning musician Steve Dawson returns to Bozzini's Upstairs Lounge on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.). He will be accompanied by Fats Kaplin. Tickets $32.50 at Bozzini’s or call 604-792-0744 to reserve.

April 4, 2025 • The Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra performs on April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at St Mary’s Church in Chilliwack. Tickets: $10/youth, $30/senior, $35/general, and $75/family. For more info and to buy tickets, go to chilliwacksymphony.com.

April 5, 2025 • The 12th annual Hometown Hoedown for Hospice, a fundraiser for the Chilliwack Hospice Society, is Saturday, April 5 at Evergreen Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and this is a 19+ event. The night includes a barbecue dinner, silent auction, country music, mechanical bull and more. Tickets $75 and available at chilliwackhospice.org/calendar-events/hometown-hoedown-for-hospice.

April 5, 2025 • People can create their own jigsaw puzzle at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, April 5. Design unique patterns and pictures, then take home a personalized puzzle. This activity promotes problem-solving, artistic expression, and critical thinking. For ages six and older, with younger children welcome with an adult helper. It runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Online registration required.

April 5, 2025 • Streams Foundation Canada is hosting a free celebration of Eid and Vaisakhi at the Sardis Library on Saturday, April 5 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. People can learn all about these festivals while sampling different food from diverse cultures. There will also be henna tattoos, dance performances and more. This is a free, all-ages event. No registration required.

April 6, 2025 • The Art of Reading: High Tea with a Book is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $55, and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

April 8, 2025 • The Spirit Abreast dragon boat team is recruiting fellow breast cancer survivors to join them for the 2025 paddling season. They are having a meet-and-greet on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bob Chan-Kent Family YMCA (45844 Hocking Ave.). The team has members throughout the Fraser Valley and they practise twice a week at Cultus Lake from April to September. For more, call Ingrid at 778-241-2920, or Debbie at 778-847-8199.

April 10 to 12, 2025 • Highroad Academy Theatre Company presents Frozen Jr. at Highroad Academy (46641 Chilliwack Central Rd.) from April 10 to 12. Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Tickets are $20 – which help fund the theatre program – and available at highroadacademy.com.

April 11, 2025 • Spiderlodge 'Canadiana' is an all-ages evening marking the 20th anniversary of Chilliwack folk-rock group Spiderlodge featuring Lori Paul and Rick Genge. This album-release concert is set for April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at 45892 Wellington Ave. For tickets, go to checkout.eventcreate.com/spiderlodge/select-buy.

April 11 to mid-May, 2025 • The Botanica Tulip Festival runs daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., tentatively opening on April 11 and running until mid-May, with final dates dependent on seasonal bloom conditions. There will be complimentary Ferris wheel rides running Tuesday through Sunday (April 11 to May 4) in the afternoons. It is located at 41310 Royalwood Dr. in Chilliwack. Pets are welcome. April 12 and 13, 2025 • The third annual Rotary Climate Fair runs Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). This free, all-ages event features an educational trade show, job fair and several speakers who are helping to create a cleaner future. April 17 to 19, 2025 • The Renaissance Dog Association championship dog show is April 17 to 19 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This is a free event and open to everyone. It includes various vendors, and a silent auction with proceeds going to the 'Wounded Warriors' to help pay for a therapy dog. Organizers of the dog show are asking people to bring donations of non-perishable items for the local food bank.

May 22 to 24, 2025 • The Auld Lang Syne Dog Association championship dog show is May 22 to 24 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This is a free event and open to everyone. It includes various vendors, and a silent auction with proceeds going to the 'Wounded Warriors' to help pay for a therapy dog. Organizers of the dog show are asking people to bring donations of non-perishable items for the local food bank.

May 27, 2025 • Sound the Alarm presents 'A Whole New World: A Concert of Movie Musicals' Greatest Songs' on May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, featuring popular songs from Disney and Hollywood movies. June 8, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Classic Car Show is Sunday, June 8 at the UFV Chilliwack campus (corner of Caen Avenue and Dieppe Street). This fundraiser event will support the Chilliwack General Hospital via the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. Those wanting to register their vehicle for the show, or for more information, go to fvccs.ca. The show opens to the public at 10 a.m.

June 14, 2025 • The Chilliwack Grand Summer Market presented by Local Harmony Markets is on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evergreen Hall. Free tickets at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1204476514679.

July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. Sept. 13, 2025 • Highway Star, a Deep Purple tribute band, is at Corky's Irish Pub on Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Opening performance by Chilliwack band Sanctuary X. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door. For more, including ticket purchasing, go to portmoodyjamz.ca.

NOW to April 4, 2025 • The 78th annual Chilliwack Music and Dance Festival, featuring talented, young dancers, singers and musicians, runs Feb. 19 to April 4, mainly at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre but also at G.W. Graham Secondary. The public is welcome to watch and tickets are $7 per session or $25 for a season pass. The festival wraps up with a Dance Honour Performance on March 9 and a Music Honour Performance on April 4. Tickets to the honours performances are $15, and both are at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. NOW to April 8, 2025 • ‘Kids in Control’ is a free eight-week education-and-support program for children aged eight to 12 who have loved ones living with substance use disorder and/or mental illness. It runs from Feb. 4 to April 8. This is a program through the BC Schizophrenia Society and the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre. Registration is required by emailing kic2025winter@gmail.com. NOW to April 12, 2025 • Light and Shadow, a group show and sale by members of the Chilliwack Visual Artist’s Association, is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre art gallery from March 12 to April 12. Opening reception is set for Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

ONGOING EVENTS:

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is led by 2008 Olympic Coach Americo Pena. No previous experience required. For ages 9 to 17. It includes games, snacks and wrestling. For more: infocgwa@gmail.com, or 604-997-5758.

The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.

First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. The shows happen on the first Saturday of every month at CoWork Chilliwack. Tickets for all performances are available at veryveryimprov.ca/tickets.

Every Tuesday night • Corky’s Irish Pub wants you to come be a rock star as they host karaoke every Tuesday night.

Every Wednesday morning • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1303 Chilliwack meets Wednesday mornings at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence at 9168 Corbould St. Weigh-in is at 8:15 a.m. followed by a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For information call 604-316-5202 or e-mail alees45@hotmail.com.

Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Gamblers Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a Gambling Problem.

Gam-Anon family groups • Is someone else's gambling affecting your life? Gam-Anon can help. They offer hope and help when a loved one has a gambling problem. Family and friends are welcomed whether or not the gambler seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a gambling problem.
