VIDEO: Walk For Alzheimer’s steps outside

May weather cooperated for dementia fundraiser

It was the first time in Chilliwack that the Walk For Alzheimer’s took place outside and the May weather cooperated.

Usually held in January, the event changed this year with participants doing a lap inside the Landing Sports Centre before heading out to walk a full block to raise awareness of dementia and Alzheimer Society British Columbia.

Another first happened this year—the Chilliwack Primary Care Seniors Clinic was awarded as the local honouree.

It’s the first time an organization has been honoured, as the recognition is traditionally granted to an individual.
