RCMP officers, together with law enforcement personnel and Special Olympics B.C. athletes, ran and walked through Chilliwack Tuesday as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics.
“We are proud to support Special Olympics and the athletes from our community,” says Sgt. Jen Koch of the Chilliwack RCMP. “The Special Olympics athletes that take part in events are truly inspiring and give so much back to us who participate.”
The LETR is taking place across the Lower Mainland from June 4 to 7 to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics worldwide.
The torch run fundraiser has raised more than $4 million in the province for Special Olympics B.C. since 1991.
Since 1980, Special Olympics B.C. has provided high-quality, year round sports programs for athletes around the province with the goal of providing individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunities to enrich their lives and celebrate personal achievement through positive sport experiences.
