It’s a step in the right direction for moms and moms-to-be.
The 22nd Run for Mom fundraiser benefitting the maternity ward at Chilliwack General Hospital will be taking place on Saturday, May 9 along the Vedder River Rotary Trail.
The annual Mother’s Day weekend event is hosted by the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) and Garrison Running Co.
Run for Mom is a family-friendly, five-kilometre run or walk event for all abilities. It starts from Vedder Park and will continue along the Vedder River Rotary Trail.
“The route will be a simple yet scenic loop along the Rotary Trail,” said Liz Harris, FVHCF executive director.
The funds raised will directly benefit the maternity department at CGH.
“Chilliwack is a very generous community and has supported Run for Mom for over two decades,” Harris said. “We have a goal to raise $5,800 at the event this year.”
“We are excited to be working alongside the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation again to bring you the 2020 Run for Mom,” said Janet Vink from Garrison Running Co.
Chilliwack residents can help support the run by registering on line at www.fvhcf.ca/runformom and collect pledges. Those unable to participate can donate online at www.fvhcf.ca/donate (be sure to leave a comment saying the funds are for Run for Mom).
The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation raises funds for vital equipment and programs funded or endorsed by the Fraser Health Authority. They serve the communities of Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
